I’m a creative all-rounder and I love to create unique, on-brand design solutions for non-profits and established brands.

I’ve been a graphic designer for over a decade and I love to work with non-profits and established brands that are doing great things. I’m all about developing relationships and working with clients long-term, on a variety of projects, so I can get to know the brand and really make it come to life. I love to work with clients from all over Australia, from my office on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, Australia.

I love to work with clients long-term, across a variety of projects. Here’s some of the ways I can help you:

Magazines
Whether it’s an industry, trade, supporter or retail magazine, I love to work on magazines – either as a solo designer or as a part of a team.

Books & Editorial
I love to design beautiful coffee-table style books including the cover and internal pages.

Reports and Documents
I can produce beautiful reports and long-copy documents.

Annual Reports
I can design annual reports of all sizes, either as a traditional printed report or an interactive PDF.

Brand Rollout
If you’ve invested in a brand identity I can assist with the brand rollout and creation of the brand assets.

Temporarily Covering Full Time Roles
Filling in for an in-house designer while they are on leave, or temporarily covering a role until a full-time designer is found.

Help During Peak Periods
Assisting the existing design team during especially busy periods.

Overflow Work
Completing projects that the in-house design team can’t fit into their day-to-day workload.

How does the design process work?

This will vary depending on the project and who I’m working with, but the design process generally goes something like this:

1. Quoting

You’ll contact me via my contact form or by email with your project brief or some details of your project including any deadlines. If you’re not sure how to do a project brief I can help. I’ll let you know my availability and send you a price estimate. Depending on scope of your project we may schedule a Strategy Session to discuss your project (via phone or Zoom).

2. Scheduling

Once you’ve confirmed that my pricing and availability is in alignment with your requirements, I’ll send you a deposit invoice (this will need to be paid before I commence work), contract, proposed project timeline, and further details about next steps.

3. Briefing

If you haven’t already, you’ll send me everything I need to make a start on your project including all copy/wording, photos/images (if applicable – I’m also able to source licensed stock photos if required), your style guide (if you have one), and your logo and any other supporting images or brand assets. All copy should be finalised and thoroughly proof-read beforehand, as this is not part of the design process. You’re also welcome to send me design examples, layout sketches/guides or flat plans if you have them, or you can leave this up to me.

4. Design

I’ll put together the initial design proof and send it to you for feedback (usually as a low-res PDF file for on-screen proofing). Depending on the size of your project, I may do the whole design in one go, or it may be divided into smaller sections.

5. Feedback

You’ll look over the proof and advise of any required edits or changes (if applicable). I find the easiest way to do this is to use the ‘Comments’ function on Adobe Acrobat to add comments throughout the digital PDF proof. Alternatively you can write out a list of changes in an email. I require all changes to be provided in writing. Examples of changes include “please replace this image with this one instead” or “please fix this spelling mistake” (although all copy should be thoroughly proofread before the design process starts). Any major changes or adjustments to the brief at this stage will likely attract additional charges and the project timeline will need to be revised.

6. Revisions (if required)

If you require any revisions, I’ll update the design and send you through a revised proof. If there’s any further revisions we’ll repeat steps 5 & 6 until you’re happy to sign off on the design. Usually 1 or 2 rounds of revision should be all that is needed (if any). I find that the best way to limit revisions is to have a really clear brief and ensure that copy has been thoroughly proof-read and finalised before the design process begins.

7. Final art

Once you’re happy with the proof you’ll sign off on the project and I’ll prepare the final art files and send through my final invoice. Once the final payment is made, I will arrange printing and delivery/distribution as applicable, or I will send you the final art files. These are usually provided as print-ready PDFs and/or web-optimised PDFs, but will vary depending on your project. I prefer to manage printing myself because many things can go wrong during the printing process and I want to ensure that the final product looks its best, but I can also provide you with print files in any format you require. If you already have a great relationship with a printer/mail house, I’m happy to liaise with them directly.

Felicity has produced promotional materials for a number of our campaigns and we can highly recommend her. Her work is always delivered on time and the quality is exceptional. She is easy to communicate with and always goes out of her way to offer assistance. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Felicity.

The Wilderness Society

Felicity was great to work with and would highly recommend! The magazine layout that Felicity completed was delivered to us spot on time and completed to a high standard. Was very happy that Felicity was able to familiarise herself with our brand guidelines super speedily too, which meant not needing to go back and forth with revisions. As a charity agency we’re also very cost-conscious and appreciate working with people who charge such reasonable rates.

Act For Peace

Felicity has been working with us on an ongoing basis and we couldn’t be happier with the work she has done for us. It’s so great to have someone that we can always call on regardless of what we need designed! She’s helped us with branding, packaging design, signage, in-store promos and advertising materials. I would highly recommend her to anyone!

The Vegan Grocery Store

Felicity has worked with us for a number of years and can highly recommend her. Her work is always delivered on time and the quality is exceptional. She is easy to communicate with and always goes out of her way to offer assistance. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Flik Graphic Design.

Wellers Hill State School

Felicity has worked with us for a number of years and has designed several of our brochures, reports, annual reports, merchandise and stall fit-out, and stationery. We love having one designer that we can go to for everything that can also help us with printing. We highly recommended Flik Graphic Design!
